The Arc of Atlantic County
Tours I. Rice & Company
Representatives of The Arc of Atlantic County toured I. Rice & Company’s state-of-the-art facility in Philadelphia on November 6, 2014. The not-for-profit organization, which supports more than 700 persons with Intellectual and Developmentally Disabled (I/DD) and their families, is the beneficiary of more than $70,000 in proceeds from the recent I. Rice & Company’s 6th Annual Golfing for Good Tournament.
I. Rice & Company has been manufacturing top quality ingredients for the food industry since 1884. President and CEO Steve Kuhl started out teaching school in the Bronx, NY. Today his company does business nationwide servicing national brands we would all recognize immediately. Joe DiMedio, COO, educated as an attorney, has, like his father-in-law, become a hands on manager with a passion for adapting I. Rice & Company and its capabilities to meet the ever changing needs of the food industry.
“Steve and Joe are a winning team both in business and on the golf course,” said Michael David-Wilson, CEO, The Arc of Atlantic County. “The same passion, which is the secret sauce for their company’s success, was also evident in their charitable fundraising for this event.” CFO Ben Hoenig and the Ricettes, the company’s volunteer corps, were also important contributors to the success of this September’s Tournament. Earlier this year I. Rice & Company was the recipient of The Arc of Atlantic County’s Outstanding Corporate Citizen award for their having raised more than $250,000 to benefit The Arc’s recreation program over the past 6 years.
“The Arc of Atlantic County and I. Rice & Company are committed to making a difference together in the lives of people with IDD,” says Chairman of the Board Joe Polisano.
